Isn't tuning part of configuring? 122mph is nothing posted by MikeH(Twin GT35BB Incon Z) on December 19, 2003 at 03:41 PM |

he is running those times and MPH. He breaks trannies and halfshafts/splines commonly; he gives the car utter hell - a driving schema that no one in their right mind who daily drives their Z would dream of. There's a lot of parts that go into running those times, and consequently, a lot of money. There's a lot less tuning going involved and I'll support that theory with the fact that no one running his chip is also running 1/4mi times and MPH with the same hard parts as Chip. The sad thing about it is some people would be sold on Chip's idea that track tuning a program is going to be the be-all-end-all of chip tuning for every single car out there when the reality of it is that it would have to be performed on each and every car it goes into in order to achieve both a safe and effective tune at that level. Dyno tuning the chip is still the safest and best documented method of achieving a safe program for the masses and if you want to street tune, get the ZEM - its got datalogging, real-time tunability, and a built-in dyno soon to come. But until you get to that point,.... well, I've already stated the facts...
